Catch The Ghost
Plot:
"Catch the
Ghost” is a romantic investigative drama about a woman named Yoo Ryung who
solves cases with her overflowing sense of justice and exceptional spatial
perception but always gets herself into trouble because of her rash actions.
She meets the Wangsimni station constabulary chief, a man who avoids cases and
seeks stability. However, he always ends up cleaning up after the problems
caused by Yoo Ryung and holds the key to solving the cases. (Source: https://mydramalist.com/33538-catch-yoo-ryung)
Mini Review:
↬The best part about this series
was how humane all the characters were. Just because someone is a police or
detective they always can’t be super enthusiastic about catching a criminal but
can have thoughts for their safety too as they have a family to protect, or
people who are always kind and taking care of others would not feel frustrated enough
to leave at some point, all people are flawed, but despite these circumstances
they again got up, brushed themselves off and did their work out of duty out of
love.
↬Yoo Ryung a woman who acts rashly
out of instinct joins the Subway Police for a personal agenda and meets Chief Ji
Suk who likes doing duty abiding the law. The initial cases are intriguing and
it’s fun to watch the difference in the acting and thinking methods of the
leads (though at some points it feels a bit annoying as Yoo Ryung never listens
to the Chief and the Chief ends up taking care of the messes)
↬But the main case of “catching
the ghost” was at some points scary, a bit draggy but ultimately it was a sad
and emotional case. Also the personal stories of the Lead characters had it’s
ups and downs but very well meshed with the main story.
↬The most notable character for me
was of course Chief Go Ji Suk (Kim Seon Ho) whose previous works I have also
loved (Chief Kim, Strongest Deliveryman, You Drive Me Crazy), he was the most
relatable character and adorable at times. The chemistry between the leads was
not exactly on the sizzling side, but a fun friendly one.
↬Also the team works and team bonding
were portrayed very naturally, special shout out to Chief Kong who was my favorite.
Ending Notes:
🔺A well written plot (within minor
loopholes) which was thrilling and emotional at the same time.
🔺The characters are portrayed very
well with good team bonding. Would like a Second Season with the same team.
🔺Also a thriller based on Subway,
was somewhat new and interesting to watch.
Final Rating: 3/5 👀
