Plot:
Yong Dong Jin is
a conscript sergeant in the South Korean armed forces. He is also the
military’s leading sniffer dog handler and is just one month away from
receiving his long-awaited discharge. But with just weeks to go until he can
rejoin the civilian world, a mysterious case threatens to suck him into a long,
troublesome intrigue. In the demilitarized zone (DMZ), the area between North
and South Korea, a suspected murder in bizarre circumstances piques the army’s attention. The army leaders decide to form an elite search party to scour the DMZ for clues, enlisting Yong Dong Jin and his keen-nosed dogs. Also joining the team will be Son Ye Rim, a relatively green but highly promising soldier who received much of her training in the United States. Mini Review:
What I Liked |
What I
disliked |
As I love thrillers a lot, this was on my must watch list
plus it’s an OCN drama. OCN brings the raw and thrill factor to its best. |
The inconsistency in the thrill. Sometimes its gets so scary I can’t watch at night, and other times it feels plain stupid given the situation. |
The 1997 backstory, how the show goes around revealing what
happened in Sector 21 that day. |
The main antagonist deserved a much greater punishment for
what he did than how he met his end in the show. |
The thrill around finding the target, the night scenes in
the wilderness and the sheer unknown, everything combined to create a best
chasing storyline. I was up and tensed while watching some scenarios. |
Once the host got revealed it got more on the emotional
side (which was expected) but I missed the scary factor. |
Captain Jo Min Gook, he was shown as a person who
went/chose the wrong path to fame, but as a team leader/captain he really did
well. Led his team really good and maintained his calm while a whole lot of teammates
kept getting emotionally overwhelmed. |
Kim Da Jung’s Character, I understand she meant well, but she being a civilian
now should understand that Military personals cannot disclose their secrets
and missions and should have stopped coming in between their work. As a civilian
currently, she kept getting the Village People, her family and the Special
Team in what could have been dangerous situations. |
[Spoiler Alert]
Was really disappointed
how it ended for Captain Jo Min Gook, I personally think he deserved better for
leading a good team, despite his personal gains. Also low-key shipped him with Son
Ye Rim.

Ending Notes:
🔺The thrill and
chase are at its best. If you enjoy this kind of genres do give this a try.
🔺The opening
theme/sequence, I absolutely loved it! It sets the tone and pace for the show
so good.
🔺Son Ye Rim’s character, I loved how well structured her character was.
She deserves a separate appreciation post.
Final Rating: 3/5
